New Marilyn Manson Single 'Deep Six'

Marilyn Manson has just released his brand new album 'The Pale Emperor' Today! 

The Song I am going to review is the single released 'Deep Six'. I have heard the song quite a few times. But the first couple of times I only ever heard the opening verse and chorus, I never quite made my way all the way to the end. But eventually doing what every other person in the country does I made my way to You Tube and just typed the track in. 

First impression of the track is that it has a different sound entirely. Especially compared to his earlier work. The track sounds a lot cleaner and smooth, than compared to the tracks off of albums such as 'The Golden Age Of Grotesque' and 'Holy Wood'. 

What I love most about Marilyn Manson tracks are that they are always gritty and dirty. Also the songs always have a point to them, they aren't made just as a feel good track. None of Marilyn Manson tracks are 'feel good' so to say. They are dark and evil and bring out the other side to people. After listening to a couple of his songs you can feel yourself relating to what he is say and once that happens you are a Manson fan for life! 

Any way back to the single 'Deep Six'. The track is a lot cleaner in sound but the same deep lyrics and chords remain, which I love. Listening to a single either makes you want to listen to the rest of the album or not. In this case, I would definitely take a listen to the remaining songs on 'The Pale Emperor'. Also I particularly lied the break downs in the song where he added the techno in the back ground, I feel it fitted the song and made it become a track that would sound brilliantly with surround sound. So you lucky people who will see him at Download, watch out for the track because I promise you it will sound ten times as better live than it does on Audio. 

To finish up,I would say that I prefer Marilyn Manson's previous works purely based on their darkness and dirty sound but I feel you do sometimes have to move with the times and the technology making the music just that little bit cleaner. But hopefully when taking a listen to the remaining 10 or so tracks I will find that dirty rock sound and be completely happy with the album.

AC/DC Rock Or Bust Album Review

As most of my reader know AC/DC are my favourite band, so I will try extremely hard not to be completely biased when reviewing this new album.

A year ago their were rumours flying around that AC/DC we going to call it a day and  retire from creating well renowned Hard Rock music. Which upon hearing was completely devastating. But luckily it was all a load crap, as Brian Johnson and Angus Young confirmed the release of a brand new 2014 AC/DC Album. So for the next six, seven months fans from all over the globe were awaiting the release of AC/DC's 15th internationally released studio album.

By August 2014 Angus Young sadly informed us all that Malcolm Young would not be joining the band in recording the new album due to illness. But instead his nephew (Stevie Young) would be stepping in to play the rhythm guitar for the band. In October the title of the album was revealed to be 'Rock Or Bust'. Which is also the first track on the album.

The single 'Play Ball' was released in October, which gave the fans a slight insight into what this new album was going to bring. And it did not disappoint. The track is AC/DC through and through; a strong beat from the drums a mix of the blues and hard rock for the guitar riff and the oh so familiar powerful and gritty vocals. The track is short and snappy. It gets the head nodding and the feet tapping. The song was made to be performed live.

The self titled 'Rock Or Bust' track was released next in November and I  remember hearing it for the first time on Planet Rock. (UK Rock radio station). The track is just like 'Play Ball' it is AC/DC through and through, from the guitar riff too the vocals. However Rock or Bust sounds heavier than the first single, it sets a tone for the album.

When the CD was released on the 2nd of December, fans all around the globe could finally get their hands on the much awaited album. The music as a whole is a lot slower than previous albums. The music is heavier and has more grit. But I personally think the album is better than 'Black Ice', if I am honest. I preferred the sound of 'Rock or Bust', it was less commercialised than 'Black Ice' was.

Once fans have an album in their hands their next initial thought is "Is there going to be a tour?"

We all heard on the seventh of December AC/DC were in fact going to be heading our on a Tour! I sat for around an hour scrolling through the Internet to find UK dates and like the great gig detective I am I found them! AC/DC were to be coming to the UK and Ireland to perform three gigs!

• Glasgow 
• London Wembley

Tickets for the London Wembley gig went on sale on the 17th December. I sat from 9:00 in the morning for half an hour to be ready to get tickets from Ticket master when the time hit 9:30. However it wasn't as easy as you would think. As soon as the clock hit 9:30 and I pressed for tickets I was put in a cue for 7 minutes. I began to have a nervous breakdown in my seat, thinking I wasn't going to get tickets. Once I got through security and the cue I discovered their wasn't any tickets left on Ticket master, and the one thing that pissed me off was Ticket Master never put up a sold out sign! So after three times of trying to get through I needed to go to Plan B. It was twenty minutes since the tickets went on sale, I was on the verge of tears and having a real drama. So I went onto the Wembley website and clicked on the AC/DC link to where their was a overview of the event. Next to the information their were five different suppliers of where you could source tickets. I took a gamble and pressed on the link for See Tickets. The standing was all sold out and the upper tier Blocks were counting down rather quickly. But with an amazing stroke of luck I managed to get through  on the seating and bag myself tickets for the show!! We may be up in the gods but I have been in the upper tiers before and I was able to see everything that was going on.
